VINTAGE PORT 2018 DOP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer QUINTA DO CRASTO
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, intense, somewhat spicy, ripe, plummy, cassis-black-cherry nose with some Xmas fruitcake notes. Very sweet, medium-full bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe, plummy, blueberry pie flavours with a lingering, licorice-tinged, ceday-sandalwood finish. Showing well and at this moment seems surprisingly approachable now, it is a bit up in the air as to how this will evolve over time. Bottled in January 2021, it has 20% alcohol, 99 g/L residual sugar and 3.8t g/L total acidity. This old vines field blend spent about two years in 9000-litre Portuguese oak vats and was thankfully bottled without fining or filtration. Only 66 cases of 3 bottles are available. CSPC 46833

TASTING NOTE: Extroverted, with a blast of blueberry and açaí berry compote aromas and flavors taking the lead, followed by waves of warm fruitcake and melted black licorice. Really solid graphite spine is well-buried, giving this the support it needs while the fruit drives through. Very strong. Best from 2030 through 2050.
