CUVÉE NICOLAS VIEILLES VIGNES GRENACHE NOIR 2022 IGP Côtes Catalanes
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer FAMILLE LAFAGE
Fairly deep violet-red colour. This 100% Grenache has a gently spicy, complex, ripe, blackberry-Damson-plum nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, ripe, plum-dark-cherry flavours with a lingering, sandalwood-tinged, minerally, bright, gently grippy finish. This versatile, quite ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser has 15% alcohol and thankfully now only 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L25155A on the lower part of the glass bottle. It was aged in 600 L oak barrels on the lees which adds some richness and mouthfeel. This 11th Vintages release is the driest and for my taste the best to date. Screwcap closure. CSPC 354191
