STARTING BLOCKS CHENIN BLANC 2024 WO Coastal Region
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SIMONSIG
I did a quick LCBO store #149 enomatic tasting bar assessment of this release and was very impressed. It has a medium-light straw colour and a very attractive, slightly spicy, bright, ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with some still faintly toasty notes from extended lees aging. Dry medium bodied, nicely textured, slightly spicy, fairly intense, well-integrated, melon-yellow-apple-lemon flavours with a lingering, buttery, bright finish. The secret of this enjoying this youthful 2024 100% Coastal Region Chenin Blanc is breathing - this varietal needs time open and integrate. As it comes with a screwcap closure, I suggest you open and try it in advance. If you like it, then keep in chilled and do nothing. If not, then decant and/or aerate and try later - perhaps even the next day. You will be astonished on how this 2024 evolves. It has 13% alcohol and under 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L7021M on the back label. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 45168
