REMY FERBRAS |
Once again this very well made, fruit forward, ripe 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape from Remy Ferbras is bound to please discerned wine fans. It has a fairly deep intense ruby colour and an attractive, gently complex, ripe, Damson plum nose with some faintly earthy, autumnal forest floor notes. It is dry, harmonious, rich, medium-full bodied and well structured with mouthfilling, ripe, bright, cassis-tinged, Damson plum fruit flavours complimented by red and black cherry notes and followed up by lingering, sandalwood-chestnut notes and fine acidity. Showing extremely well now, now, it can still evolve for a number of years. This blend of 75% Grenache,15% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah has 15% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with a hard-to-see lot number L24045 on the upper part of the glass bottle just below the capsule

| TASTING NOTE: Châteauneuf-du-Pape has a reputation as one of the finest wines in the world and is undoubtedly a perfect fit for fine dining, but don't let that dissuade you from pouring the complex red fruit and spice in this one at a barbecue with hamburgers, grilled mushroom burgers or grilled ribs. Drink into early 2030s. |
