GRAN LURTON SINGLE VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018 IG Los Chacayes, Valle de Uco, Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PIEDRA NEGRA
Extremely deep intense purple red colour. Complex, intense, slightly spicy, very attractive, ripe, cassis-plum-cherry fruit on the nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium-full to full bodied, beautifully textured, harmonious, ripe, cassis-Damson-plum-black-cherry flavours with a lingering, bright, faintly minerally, cedar-sandalwood-tinged finish. This blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Malbec comes from the oldest winery in the Uco Valley founded in 1996 by Francois Lurton son of Bordeaux producer Andre Lurton. TASTING NOTE: A full-bodied red with savory aromas of stewed currants, salted plums, mushrooms and dried herbs. Some seaweed, too. Firm, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity balance a concentrated core of black fruit with a savory edge. Dense and chewy. Very refined and polished. Gorgeous cabernet.
