SINGLE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2022 Southern Valleys, South Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer AUNTSFIELD
Bright medium-deep red colour. Complex, rather cedary, slightly spicy, fairly intense, extremely ripe, cassis-black-cherry nose with some mushroomy, forest floor notes. Dry, medium bodied, very bright, raspberry fruit driven, plummy flavours with a lingering, lifted, faintly toasty finish. Ready-to-drink and perhaps a bit light structurally on the mid-palate, this would go well with lamb. It has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L411261 on the back label. Screwcap closure. CSPC 361246

TASTING NOTE: Refined and gorgeously complex, the sensually appealing bouquet shows sweet berry, hazelnut, dried mushroom and thyme nuances, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's juicy and finely flowing. Gorgeously styled and structured by seamlessly infused tannins, finishing impressively long and expansive. At its best: now to 2034. Score - 95 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, July 2023) Price $ 32.95
