| This REPEAT is showing beautifully, actually better today than when assessed last November. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very attractive, intense, very bright, slightly spicy, ripe,cassis-plum-raspberry nose with refined cedary notes along with hints of rhubarb crumble. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, complex, rich, ripe, plum-black-cherry-cassis flavours with a harmonious, lingering, intense, vibrant, elegant, cedary finish. This very tasty blend of 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot has 15% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22339 on the back label. Some 70% of this wine was aged for 18 months in first-use French oak barrels and 30% aged in second- and third-use use barrels. This 25th Purple Angle Vintages release is delicious now in its youth but is capable of improving over the next decade. |

| TASTING NOTE: For me, this is the best Purple Angel since 2016, another cooler, fresher vintage in Chile. Partnering Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot, with equal parts of the blend from Apalta and Marchigüe, this has plenty of graphite and tarragon on the nose, supple, granular tannins, layers of coffee bean, chocolate and black cherry and a balanced, nuanced finish. Drink date: 2025-2036. Score - 97 (timatkin.com, Chile Special Report 2024) |
