BRILLIANT SPARKLING 2020 VQA Vinemount Ridge, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, traditional method
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer WESTCOTT
Bright medium straw colour with streams of small bubbles. Attractive, gently toasty, intense, gently complex, bright, lemon brioche nose. Very dry, medium-plus bodied, bright, ripe, apple-lemon flavours with a lingering, very nicely textured, lingering, hazelnut-tinged, bright, effervescent finish. This classy Brut Nature blend of 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier was 10% barrel aged for 8 months prior to tirage and then aged 42 months on lees prior to its recent degorgement. It has 12.5% alcohol and only 2 g/L residual sugar. It should continue to improve in bottle over the next year or so.
