Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
WESTCOTT |
If you are looking for a fresh, bright, crowd-pleasing sparkler then this new 2023 could hit the spot. It is quite dry, medium-light bodied, very slightly spicy and faintly citrusy with apple-melon notes than carry over nicely on the palate. This very pleasant, effervescent, new blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Riesling, 10% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Menier is versatile and ready-to-drink with 11% alcohol, 6 g/L residual sugar and 5.6 g/L total acidity with lot number L062724 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Only 500 cases produced. |

TASTING NOTE: The latest Violette is a Charmat charmer, drier than most, light, tight, tart and made fine by proper acidity. In this idiom the mauve or purple flower is right, correct and for those on a festive fizz budget, also indispensable. Drink 2024-2026. Tasted November 2024. Score - 89 (Michael Godel, winealign.com) |
