LIMESTONE RIDGE-NORTH RIESLING 2021 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
Bright pale straw colour. Lovely, intense, spicy, mineral-driven nose shows an abundance of honeyed, ripe, apple-lemon meringue fruit along with some slight petrol-tinged, floral notes. Intense, gently off dry, medium bodied and nicely textured, it has bright, spicy, crisp, fresh, ripe, lemon-apple flavours with a lingering, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. Extremely tasty and refreshing, it is versatile and now quite ready to drink. It has 9.8% alcohol and 17 g/L residual sugar with a hefty 8 g/L total acidity with 22/06/22 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure - only 13,000 bottles produced. CSPC 431593

TASTING NOTE: This is a very impressive riesling with intense aromas of petrol, crushed pineapple, lemonade and a touch of evergreen. It carries the same intensity on the palate with searing acidity, offset by some sweetness. Very lemony on the finish. The length is excellent. Relentless flavour and quench to enjoy cold on a summer patio. Gin and tonic fans listen up. Tasted April 2024. Score - 92 (David Lawrason, winealign.com) Price $ 21.95
