PINOT NOIR 2022 Gualtallary, Valle de Uco
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ALTA YARI
NEW in Vintages. Medium-deep purple-red colour. Gently earthy, fairly intense, ripe, raspberry-plum-cherry nose with some minerally, slightly floral (rose) notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, quite mouthfilling, fairly intense ripe plum fruit flavours along with some raspeberry-black-cherrry notes followed up a lingering, very gently earthy, rather bright, sandalwood-sage-tinged finish. This 2022 was fermented in open top small concrete tanks with 20% whole clusters and then aged for 12 months in a mix of French oak barrels and concrete eggs.

TASTING NOTE: Grown nearly 1,600 meters above sea level, in a parcel of nearly two hectares planted in 2009, this is one of the most extreme pinots in Mendoza. It's a red with a very pronounced herbal expression and floral tones that combine with aromas and flavors of ripe red fruit. A pinot that has a lot of character, earthy notes, and spice tones from aging nine months in used 225-liter barrels. It's deep and juicy, with firm tannins and great structure, the red you need for charcuterie. Score - 94 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2024) Price $ 29.95
