ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2022 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VILLA POGGIO SALVI
This NEW in Vintages has a fairly deep red colour with a bright, fresh, still youthful, ripe Damson plum nose with some faintly citrusy, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, intense, youthful, still somewhat grippy, solid, plum, red currant flavours with a lingering, very bright, lingering, fairly high acid, finish that augurs well for future drinking. Shows best a large glass and will stand up to a well marbled steak. This hand harvested 100% Sangiovese Grosso was aged for 9 months in Slavonian oak wood barrels (from 30-60 to 100 hl) and has 14.5% alcoho with lot number LR2322 on the back label.
