PRIVATE RESERVE MERITAGE 2021 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PELLER
NEW in Vintages. Deep intense purple-garnet-red in colour, this Bordeaux-inspired blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc has fairly intense, refined, ripe Damson plum fruit on the nose with some faintly spicy, gently toasty, cassis notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, very nicely textured, ripe, Damson plum and crancherry-cassis fruit followed up by a lingering, very bright, gently cedary finish. Perfect with grilled red meat. Aged for 12 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels (25% new oak; 75% older oak) with full malolactic, it has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 23411101L5 on the lower part of the glass bottle.
