ESTATE RIESLING 2020 VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HIDDEN BENCH
Bright pale straw colour. Very attractive, faintly spicy, floral, bright, fresh, elegant, ripe, apple-white-peach-lemon nose with some floral minerally notes. Fairly dry, medium-bodied, vibrant, fresh, ripe, lemon-apple-pear flavours with a lingering, crisp, faintly off-dry, minerally finish. This delicious organic Riesling has 10.4% alcohol and 17.8 g/L residual sugar but with a hefty 9.94 g/L total acidity making it seem much drier than it actually is. Has a cork closure and was bottled on June 14, 2021 and now with over three years of aging, is better than ever. Lovely mouthfeel - it can still improve. CSPC 183491

TASTING NOTE: This NWAC 2023 gold medalist sports wonderful lift, purity and precision. Riesling's aromatic prowess is front and centre with lifted, ripe pear/melon fruit, subtle petrol and a lovely spice I often get from older vine Niagara rieslings. It's mid-weight, just off-dry with fine and lime acidity and a typical Beamsville Bench mineral finish. Excellent length. A bit riper and richer than the lean, powerful intense [2019], but not the least flabbly. Tasted July 2023. Score - 92 (David Lawrason, winealign.com) Price $ 24.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
