ROSATO 2023 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DREA'S WINE COMPANY
Bright very pale day-glo violet-orange-pink colour. Very pleasant, fresh, ripe, plum-crancherry aromas with some slight mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite nicely textured, fresh, ripe, minerally, red-apple-plum-crancherry flavours with a refreshing, crisp finish with a hints of raspberry. Dornfelder was originally created in 1955 in southwestern Germany and has links to Pinot Noir. It is popular in Austria and was imported into Canada by Andrea's father Inniskillin's winemaking pioneer Karl J. Kaiser. It has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Versatile and great for Springtime drinking. CSPC 43624

TASTING NOTE: This wine is made by Andrea Kaiser, daughter of Inniskillin co-founder and Ontario winemaking pioneer Karl J. Kaiser. Dornfelder was one of his favourite grapes; he was familiar with it from his native Austria, and Andrea's rosé version is believed to be the only one produced in Canada. It's bone-dry, with bright acidity and impressive plum, raspberry, and soft herbs, notably mint. A unique rosé that will drink through 2028. Price $ 26.50
Bottle Size 750 mL
