CUVEE VILLAGES XINOMAVRO 2021 PDO Naoussa
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KIR YIANNI
This new award-winning $18 BEST BUY has a medium red colour. The nose is bright and gently complex with Damson-plum fruit with some faintly earthy, red licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, still youthful, plum-cherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, slightly savoury, sandalwood-tinged, bright finish. This tasty 100% Xinomavro was aged for 12 months in a mix of new and previous-fill French (90%) and American oak. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Improves with decanting! Italian fans may well find it reminiscent of significantly higher priced Nebbiolo (some say Barolo) from Piedmont. CSPC 14151
