LES HAUTS DE LA PONCHE VACQUEYRAS 2022 AOP Vacqueras
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE FONT SARADE
NEW in Vintages. This classy 50-year-old-vine blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 25% Mourvedre has fairly deep purple red colour. The stylish nose shows an abundance of attractive, ripe, Damson plum fruit with some minerally-cassis notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured and dense, the ripe, Damson-plum-cassis-black-cherry flavours are followed up by a lingering, bright, complex finish. Perfect with steak tartare, it has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar L180724 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 42394

TASTING NOTE: Concentrated and deep, this really stands out among other 2022 Vacqueyras for its power and drive. Ripe tannins support dark fruit, it's much riper and more intense than many. Good length and freshness, this is a wine you can sink your teeth into. Drinking window: 2024-2028. Score - 91 (Matt Walls, decanter.com, Sept. 17, 2023) Price $ 28.95
