CHARDONNAY 2022 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer EL ENEMIGO
Bright straw colour with an intense, rather cedary, fairly complex, very ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with some slightly spicy, mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, dense, ripe lemon-apple meringue flavours with a lingering, somewhat softer than usual, rather cedary finish. This ready-to-drink 2022 Chardonnay spent 12 months in 500L French oak (35% new) partially under flor and has hefty 14.3% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2-24228 on the back label. Unfortunately, not up to the preferred 2020 with 92-points at $25.95 which was released a year ago on December 2, 2023. CSPC 482984

TASTING NOTE: A consistently impressive chardonnay that highlights purity and saline minerality. Salted lemons, sliced apples, seashells and stones drizzled with a touch of oak spice. Full-bodied yet tense and lightly saline on the palate, with bright acidity and a pure, lengthy finish. Nervy and simply delicious. Drink or hold [through 2028].
