CHARDONNAY 2022 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
REDSTONE |
Bright medium straw colour. Fairly intense, spicy, rather toasty, somewhat tropical, lemon meringue pie nose. Dry, medium bodied, bright, spicy, ripe, pear-lemon-apple purée flavours with a lingering, faintly tropical, rather cedary, buttery brioche finish. It spent 12 months in French oak and has 13% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and 5.4 g/L total acidity with lot number L2024.02.21 on the lower part of the glass bottle. A ready-to-drink crowd-pleaser that should go well with poultry. |

TASTING NOTE: Redstone began as a spinoff of Niagara's iconic Tawse Winery. This Chardonnay is balanced and floral, with apple, pear, apricot, spice, toast, hazelnut, butter, and a fine mineral note. Try it with creamy seafood dishes or a vegetarian lasagna. Drink through 2026. |
