CRIANZA 2020 DO Toro |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ELÍAS MORA |
This 2020 was tasted with Alain Laliberte and has a deep intense purple colour. Attractive, very slightly spicy, intense, ripe, plum-black-cherry nose with some cedar, sandalwood and mineral notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, very nicely structured, intense, ripe, very bright, plum-mulberry-cassis flavours are followed up with a lingering, elegant, cedary, gently complex, faintly earthy, still slightly grippy, harmonious finish. Aged for 12 months in 50% American and 50% French oak, this 100% Tina de Toro (aka Tempranillo) has a hefty 15.5% alcohol and under 3 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: A harmonious red, seamlessly knit and expressive, showing a subtle, pleasing juiciness to the range of bitter cherry and black plum reduction, dried flower and thyme, smoke and espresso flavors. Features fine, satiny tannins that provide supple definition through to the lightly spiced finish. Drink now through 2030. Score - 93 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2023) |
