RISERVA SALICE SALENTINO 2019 DOC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LEONE DE CASTRIS
This 7th release since 2011 is by far the best yet! Deep intense dark ruby-purple colour. Slightly spicy, bright, ripe plum nose with some slightly savoury, crancherry and sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, bright, sandalwood-tinged, very pleasant, ripe plum flavours with a lingering, faintly spicy, gently complex finish with a touch of licorice and sandalwood. This versatile, crowd-pleasing, ready-to-drink blend of 90% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera di Lecce has 14% alcohol and under 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L030/24 on the back label. TASTING NOTE: Warm stones, blackberries, sweet plums and cocoa beans on the nose follow through to a medium to full body with some fine, silky tannins rounding off its bittersweet fruit. Tangy and pretty long with some fine, savory chocolate powder in the finish. An outstanding negroamaro. Drink now or hold. Score - 92 (jamessuckling.com, Sept. 6, 2022) Price $ 22.95
