SELECT LATE HARVEST RIESLING 2023 VQA Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CAVE SPRING
Bright medium straw colour. Very attractive, spicy, sweet, honeyed, ripe apple-pear purée nose with some caramel-tinged, mineral notes. Sweet, medium bodied, very bright, Seville orange marmalade and warm apple pie flavours followed up by a delicious, lingering, honeyed, harmonious, buttery, caramel-tinged finish. This new just-released 2023 has 12% alcohol and 90 g/L residual sugar with hefty 8.3 g/L total acidity with lot number 53024 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Great today, it should keep for well for another five years of so. CSPC 415901

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Consistently one of Niagara's best late-harvest expressions, this wine offers wonderful acidity and plentiful peach, apricot, nectarine and honeyed flavours supported by flourishes of exotic and tropical fruit, with a stunning saline-infused minerality on the close. The sweetness is adroitly balanced, making this eminently drinkable. Though this ideal dessert wine is perfect for a rich crème brûlée, try serving it alongside spicy grilled ribs. Price $ 27.95
