10-YEAR-OLD TAWNY PORT DOP, Portugal |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
BURMESTER |
A REPEAT that was originally released on December 3, 2022 at $29.95. Here is my previous tasting note: Gently ambering light garnet red colour. Intense, spicy, raisiny, sweet, honeyed, nutty, caramel nose. Sweet, medium bodied, nicely textured, toasty, spicy, intense, caramel and ripe plum flavours with a lingering, vanilla-tinged, slightly raisiny, gently tangy, lingering finish. Seems quite ready-to-drink, but it should hold for the long run. Has 20% alcohol and now 100 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Franca. Possesses a lovely mellifluous character, with touches of carob syrup bolstering vegetal and citrus tones, wrapped in silky tannins prior to a lovely and precise finish. Score - 95 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2019) |
