| This delicious remarkable 2015 Soave Classico in NEW in Vintages and was tasted blind. Worth every penny, I never would have guessed that it was a $58 Soave. Bright light yellow color. Intense, very attractive, complex Seville-orange-marmalade-tinged, very gently earthy, minerally, ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with some apricot and buttery brioche notes. Dry, medium full body, well structured, rich, ripe, apricot, winter melon and gentle citrusy fruit flavors with a lingering, harmonious, slightly spicy, toasty, mouthfilling, chestnut-tinged, warm brioche finish. This organic Garganega is from the 6 hc. Frosca vineyard planted in 1955. It underwent wild ferment and aging in stainless steel and small oak casks. It has 12.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 528471 on the back label. Only 1,666 cases produced. |
