LIMESTONE RIDGE SOUTH RIESLING 2023 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer REDSTONE
This recently-bottled 2023 has a bright very pale straw colour and a still rather shy, very slightly spicy, ripe, red apple nose with some faint mineral notes. Faintly off-dry, medium to medium-light bodied, very slightly spicy, ripe, apple-melon flavours with a lingering, bright gently minerally finish. It has 10% alcohol and a surprising 33 g/L residual sugar. It seems much drier due to the high level of total acidity and promises to age well as it was just bottled on July 25, 2024 less than three months ago. CSPC 381251

TASTING NOTE: You can expect this Riesling from the Tawse-run Redstone to deliver intense notes of citrus, peach and apple, with a characterful minerality. It's typically crafted to be off-dry, but the acidity here is so bright and vibrant that it holds the hint of sweetness in perfect balance. Price $ 22.95
