MONTAGUE VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2021 Single vineyard, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer INNISKILLIN
Bright extremely pale straw colour. Attractive, intense, ripe, lemon-pear-apple meringue nose with some elegant toasty notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied with bright, ripe, lemon-pear-apple fruit along with a lingering, fairly complex, nicely structured, crisp, toasty finish. This partial malolactic Chard was fermented in a mix of new (15%)and used French oak and has a 13.5% alcohol, 2.8 g/L residual sugar and 5.7 g/L total acidity with lot number 23021 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The mouthfeel is attributable to being aged on fine lees for 7 months. Has a screwcap closure and is a versatile crowd-pleaser. This 2021 is one of the best tasted to date. I suggest that you drink it now. It’s a bit tricky to find the year and Montague Vineyard designation on the front label as they are printed in very small typeface.
