Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer QUADRUS
Very deep intense purple-red colour. Attractive, intense, slightly spicy, ripe, Damson plum, black cherry, cassis nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, elegant, slightly spicy, intense, bright, still fresh, ripe, rich, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, harmonious, well structured finish. Drinking perfectly now, this blend of 55% Touriga Nacional, 40% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) and 5% Sousão was aged for 12 months in French oak and has 14% alcohol and under 4 g/L residual sugar. Can keep for another 5 years in a cool cellar. CSPC 534271

TASTING NOTE: The Quadrus Reserva is grown and crafted in Portugal by Toronto-born brothers Tony and Mario Amaro of the famed Opus Restaurant. Vines for this wine are grown 650 metres above sea level in a terraced vineyard rich in schist. This lovely red is already mature and ready to enjoy, showing notes of red plum, beetroot, and dried herbs, with a touch of vanillin. Price $ 34.95
