NAPA VALLEY SAUVIGNON BLANC 2022 Napa Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROBERT MONDAVI
Medium straw colour. Very attractive, intense, gently spicy, very faintly herbal nose with ripe apple-lemon-melon fruit along with some slightly toasty notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, tangy, very faintly grassy, intense, fleshy, bright, ripe, lemon-apple meringue flavours with a bright, slightly cedary, lingering finish. This excellent new blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Semillon has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar and a hefty 6.4 g/L total acidity. Of the 30+ vintages releases of this wine since 2005, this is the best tasted to date. I think that fermenting 64% in oak barrels and 36% in stainless steel followed up be putting the blend in French oak (13% new) for six months made all the difference. Bottled in May 2023. CSPC 221887

There's a toasty, vanilla-infused character, plus ripe, bright apple, melon, lemon zest and tropical notes. A versatile wine that will work equally well with turkey dinner or grilled fish.
