CHÂTEAU COUFRAN HAUT-MÉDOC 20o9 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
This mature blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon has a surprisingly deep intense purple colour (more youthful that the 2010 that I tasted on December 3, 2022). The nose is rich, intense, slightly earthy and complex with fine maturing ripe Damson plum and cassis fruit plus some cedary-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, quite extracty and dense with warm, ripe, intense, plummy-cassis-black-cherry flavours followed up by a lingering, complex, earthy, cedary, slight red licorice-tinged, smooth finish. It has 13.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1-119 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 38194
