RASTEAU 2022 AC Rasteau |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LA CHEVALIÈRE |
It has a fairly deep purple colour and a bright, fresh, lively, fruit-driven nose with lots of ripe plum-raspberry-cassis fruit. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced and nicely textured with gently complex, ripe, Damson-plum-cassis-raspberry flavours that linger perfectly on the palate. At its peak and perfect for current enjoyment (rack of lamb), this Gold Medal winning blend of 70% Grenache, 10% Carignan, 10% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah has 14.5% alcohol and under 3 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: Wines sourced from the red marl and sandstone soils of the small village of Rasteau gain a plush, red-fruit-driven flavour, with a touch of garrigue and dried herbs on the finish. This example will be delicious tonight with a roasted lamb shoulder in rosemary, garlic and thyme.
