Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
WILLIAM FÈVRE |
Bright light straw in colour, the nose is very attractive with good intensity showing gently toasty, complex, lovely, ripe, lemon-apple meringue fruit along with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, faintly spicy, bright, ripe, lemon-pear-apple meringue flavours with a lingering, bright, mineral-tinged finish with fine mouthfeel. Aged in stainless steel with some lees aging with only 5% spending 6 months in 6-year-old French oak. It has 12.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L24064300 on the capsule with a cork closure. This is the 17h Vintages release since 2015 is still worthy of a detour despite its ever-rising price (from $23.95 for the 2015). The 2022 currently retails for $44.99 at BCLIQUOR and an astonishing $56.99 at Calgary’s Craft Cellars. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine is focused and floral, with a noted purity of apple and tropical fruit, snappy citrus, and fine minerality. Balanced, long and defined. Perfect for seafood, it will drink well through 2028+. |
