Fairly deep purple red colour. Bright, ripe, plumy-sandalwood, nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe, plum-crancherry fruit flavours with a lingering, well balanced finish. At peak and ready to enjoy. This crowd-pleasing 100% Merlot has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: Toasted, spicy flavours of licorice root and baking spice peer through layers of black and blue fruit that linger into a satisfying finish reminiscent of gingerbread fruit tarts. Excellent value on this fleshy Bordeaux that will drink beautifully tonight or evolve well into the late 2020s. [The Concours des Vins Macon did not include a tasting note.] Score - Gold (Concours des Vins Macon, 2022) |
