VIEILLES VIGNES VOLNAY 2010 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

MAISON ROCHE DE BELLENE |
A REPEAT of the recommended 2010 (***) was released on November 24, 2012 at $39.95. Here is my original tasting note: Fairly deep violet-purple colour. Fairly spicy, gently cedary, ripe plum-cherry puree nose. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, tangy, red cherry-plum-apple flavours with a lingering, vanilla tinged finish. Showing well but will improve. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. |

A sweet cherry aroma sets the scene for this fruity, firmly structured wine. The juicy red-berry fruit is balanced by a smoky tannic character. This will be a pleasure to drink in a year, and it can also age longer. [Drinking beautifully now, this wine has the stuffing to evolve through the early 2030s.] Score - 92.
