MATCHBOOK |
Deep intense purple colour. The nose is quite attractive with gently spicy, ripe and plummy fruit along with some cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, tangy, fairly intense, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, bright finish. Has 13.9% alcohol and according to the LCBO 6 g/L residual sugar with number 21-2012009Z on the lower part of the glass bottle. This crowd-pleaser is quite ready-to-drink. Previously the estate grown grapes (a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot) were fermented in small temperature controlled stainless-steel tanks and aged for 12 months in French, Hungarian and American oak. |

TASTING NOTE: This potent and rather compact wine shows excellent concentration and a quiet strength that comes out with time in the glass, as velvety tannins wrap around blueberries, dark chocolate and tobacco notes. A bit tight in texture, this wine should drink best from 2024-2030. Editors' Choice. Score - 93 (Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, July 1, 2022) |
