GRATIOT-DELUGNY EMILE CHAMPAGNE 2005 AC, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GRATIOT DELUGNY
This Gratiot Delugny Cuvee Emile is 100% Chardonnay and now 18 years old. It has a bright medium yellow colour and shows fine complexity with slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, ripe, apple-lemon meringue fruit with hints of caramel. On the palate it is quite dry, medium bodied and attractive with very slightly spicy, bright, warm, ripe, lemon-apple pie flavours with a rounded, lingering finish. This crowd-pleaser has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number 220305 on the back label. A joy to just sip, the very youthful appearance of the cork with the code L21 and 2005 suggests that this might may well have been disgorged just last year. CSPC 29493
