MÉTHODE CLASSIQUE BRUT SPARKLING ROSÉ (2017) Traditional method, Nova Scotia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BENJAMIN BRIDGE
Bright light orange-salmon colour. Very gently spicy, faintly floral, elegant, orange citrus nose with some faint hints of toast. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, harmonious, elegant, ripe, melon, red apple, peach flavours with a faintly spicy, crisp, lingering finish. Attractive and ready-to-drink, this blend of 55% L'Acadie, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir - the latter two components with malolactic fermentation in 600 L neutral oak barrels. It has 15% alcohol, 4 g/L residual sugar and 8.5 g/l total acidity and was tiraged in June 2018 and disgorged in August 2022. The latter is revealed by the with lot number L22223 on the lower part of the glass bottle meaning that it had 50 months on the lees. I preferred it over an earlier disgorged batch of basically the identical wine but with a different lot number L21344 meaning it had only 43 months on the lees. CSPC 15688
