| This tasty new blend of 55% L’Acadie and 45% Chardonnay was grown in the Gaspereau Valley near Wolfville. It has a bright medium straw colour with a lively abundance of tiny bubbles. Attractive, intense, gently complex, toasty, lemon-apple meringue with some some faintly floral, minerally, Bosc pear notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, perfectly balanced, fresh, ripe, lemon-apple flavours with hints of citrusy warm brioche on the lingering finish. Only 56 cases of 6 of this ready-to-drink crowd-pleaser are available at Vintages. It has 12% alcohol, 4 g/L residual sugar and a hefty 8.5 g/L total acidity with lot number L22188B on the lower part of the glass bottle. This might be designated as a 2017 as 80% of the base wine came from this year the balance going back to 2012. Also, it was aged on the lees for 4+ years and disgorged on August 18, 2022. An earlier blend (untasted) was released on November 27, 2021 at $32.95. This new batch is the best I have tasted to date - a best buy! |
