CÔTES DU RHÔNE 2020 AP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer XAVIER VIGNON
A REPEAT of the 2020 that was last released on May 21. 2022 at $17.95. Here is my new tasting note based on a bottle just purchased at Vintages. This consistent best buy has appeared in Vintages 18 times since 2012. Deep purple garnet colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry-raspberry nose with some gentle licorice-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cassis-raspberry flavours with a lingering, crisp, sandalwood-licorice-tinged finish. Quite ready-to-drink. This delicious, versatile, ready-to-drink, organic red has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 297317

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Full blackberry fruit, generous body and positive herbal freshness make this an appealing Cotes-du- Rhone. Slight sappiness at the bold finish, but there's so much fruit and concentration that this actually adds something to the wine. Good length. Drink or hold.
