CABERNET SAUVIGNON California
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MEIOMI
A non-vintage REPEAT of the 2019 that was last released on October 30, 2021 at $24.95. Here is my previous tasting note: This sweetish, juicy, smooth, loaded with oak blended California Cabernet Sauvignon is a wide-appeal, entry-level style. It’s almost like sipping an after-dinner fortified red dessert wine. Having said that, lots of people are likely to love it. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Sweet, savoury, intense, black cherry purée nose with lots of cedary notes. Gently sweet, medium-bodied, dark chocolate tinged, rich, ripe, juicy black cherry purée flavours with a lingering, cedary, very faintly bitter, mocha-chocolate finish. Ready-to-drink. This somewhat pricey red has 14.5% alcohol and now 23 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. CSPC 20765

Famous for their ultra-popular Pinot Noir, Meiomi also crafts this highly anticipated Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from Monterey, Sonoma and Santa Barbara, it spent six months ageing in a combo of French and American oak. Look for rich cassis and suggestions of sweet spices on a velvety frame, and pour with braised meats or marinated steaks. Price $ 25.95
