BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2017 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PIAN DELLE VIGNE
Fairly deep purple colour with a very faint hint of amber on the edge. Intense, slightly spicy, gently complex, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum nose with some red licorice notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, harmonious, well structured, very slightly spicy, rather intense, ripe plum flavours with a long, lingering, cedar-tinged, sandalwood, minerally, bright finish. Still a tad youthful, give it another 3-4 years to open up. This elegant 100% Sangiovese has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L0118 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: Aromas of sweet cherries, flowers and dried orange peel follow through to a full body, yet it's linear, tight and tense, with refined, polished tannins that frame the wine nicely. Give it a couple of years to come together. Try in 2023. Score - 93 (jamessuckling.com, Nov. 4, 2021) Price $ 77.95
