NOSTRE PAÏS 2019 AP Costières de Nîmes
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MICHEL GASSIER
Fairly deep purple colour. Attractive, slightly spicy, fresh, ripe, plummy-raspberry nose with some gently floral, faintly cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry-raspberry puree flavours with a lingering, bright, gently cedary, blueberry-tinged finish. Quite elegant and ready-to-drink - great with poultry. Brilliantly made: manual harvest with sorting - 1/3 whole cluster and 2/3 whole berries without adding SO2 followed up by 12 month barrel aging in 2-to-3-year-old French oak for 6 months with malolactic lees for 50% of the wine and the balance concrete tank! This tasty organic blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault and 5% Carignan has 15% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22/060 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The heightened mouthfeel is in part attributable to blending and bottling without filtration. CSPC 295410
