GRANDE RESERVA 2011 DOC Douro
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer QUADRUS
This first release of Quadras Grande Reserva is NEW in Vintages. It has an extremely deep intense purple colour. The nose is quite pungent with lots of intense, slightly baked, ripe plum fruit along with slightly leathery, cedar-tinged, caramel flan notes. Very dry, medium-full bodied, extracty, still youthful, dense, ripe, plum fruit flavours with a lingering, toasty, cassis-chocolate finish. Needs a big glass and a few more years! This blend of 70% Touriga Nacional and 30% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) was aged for 14 months in French oak and has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar topped with a black wax seal and no lot number.
