POMMERY POP CHAMPAGNE AC, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer POMMERY
This excellent blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Meunier is almost a Brut. Bright pale straw colour, it has a fresh ripe apple-lemon meringue nose with a touch of toast. Dry, medium-light bodied, attractive, bright, ripe, lemon-apple flavours with a lingering, gently toasty, crisp finish. This surprisingly tasty incredibly convenient 6.8-ounce bottle is the perfect weekend breakfast starter. It has 15+ months lees aging in 750 ml bottles before being seamlessly transferred into these splendid miniatures. Pommery has perfected these 200 ml Champagne bottles along with the genuine wired cork which are filled with the real thing. It has 12.5% alcohol and 12 g/L residual sugar with lot number L21942023 on the back label. CSPC 18132

TASTING NOTE: Good, expansive wine. Starts focussed, aromatic, spice and apples, then gains depth and texture. Finish is a nice mix of mineral and spice. Big styled bubbles that is fabulously fun to drink. October 2015. Score - 3.5 Stars (out of 5) (Bill Zacharkiw, winealign.com) Price $ 17.95
