Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
YERING STATION |
Victoria’s cooler Yarra Valley produces some very credible Pinot Noir and this is one of them. Medium red colour. Slightly spicy, fresh, youthful, plum-cherry-strawberry nose with some faint cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, very bright, slightly spicy, tangy, fresh, ripe, plum-crancherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, bright, very gently cedary, crisp finish. Showing nicely and quite ready to drink - try with salmon or roast turkey. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1161 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The preferred recommended 2017 (**+) was released on September 5, 2020 at $24.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Matured in new and used oak, the latter - a little pencilly - obvious. Has good grip and life, the bouquet and palate singing from the same page. Good balance. Drink by: 2027. Score - 90 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, June 6, 2022) |
