DJL CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2019 Margaret River, Western Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer XANADU
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Bright, spicy, cedar-tinged, juicy, ripe, plum-cherry purée nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, gently spicy, attractive, intense, ripe plum-cherry-mulberry flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, gently cedary finish. This very tasty still youthful blend of approximately 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1148 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. Much better than the 2017 (**/**+) that was released on May 2, 2020 at $24.95. CSPC 444802

TASTING NOTE: With 6/5% petit verdot/malbec. Fruit from Wallcliffe, Wilyabrup and Treeton. 14 months in oak (25% new). Super-pretty raspberry, raspberry lolly and red licorice aromas give an indication of what to expect... the palate does not disappoint. Supple, verging on slinky; fine tannins provide seamless structure and shape. Modern, lithe and darn delicious. Drink by: 2028. Special Value.
