EL IXSIR RED 2015 Lebanon
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer IXSIR
I have included this item which was in the September Classics Catalogue but then dumped into a handful of stores after only a few weeks - well before it could sell through. This distinctive Lebanese blend of 45% Syrah, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot is worthy of a detour. Extremely deep intense purple colour. It has an excellent, faintly spicy, complex, intense, ripe plum nose with some cassis-black-cherry notes and refined cedary notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured and mouthfilling, the bright, still youthful, perfectly balanced plumy, black cherry, cassis flavours are followed up by a lingering, faintly minerally, violet-tinged, gently earthy finish. This versatile, age worthy albeit quite accessible newcomer has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number ELRG1541021 on the back label. NEW at the LCBO. CSPC 21421
