RUSSIAN RIVER SELECTION CHARDONNAY 2019 Sonoma County
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GARY FARRELL
This new 2019 follows up on the outstanding 2018 with 95-points. It has a bright light straw colour and an intense, complex, toasty, ripe, lemon meringue nose with some faintly tropical notes. On the palate it is dry and medium-full bodied, rich but balanced and mouthfilling with intense, bright, ripe, harmonious, lemony, key lime pie flavours with a lingering, very bright, lingering, mineral-driven finish. This Russian River Valley Chardonnay assemblage has 13.7% alcohol (up from 13.3%) and was actually fermented and aged for 9 months on its lees in oak - 30% in new French oak and 70% in one to three-year-old neutral French oak barrels and puncheons. The abundance of classy, Burgundian-inspired flavours combines with its richness and depth to make this highly recommended buy and quite ready-to-drink. CSPC 20391
