PIETRARIZZO ENA ROSSO 2019 DOC Etna Rosso
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TORNATORE
This 100% Nerello Mascalese is grown on the northern slopes of Mt. Etna. It’s not big but just a real charmer with lots of aromatic finesse Lightish medium-deep red colour, the nose has bright, spicy, ripe, raspberry-tinged, rose petal notes with some faint sandalwood notes. It’s very dry and bright but only medium bodied with spicy, intense, plumy, rose-hip flavours with some mineral, schisty notes. This wine is blessed with high dry extract which accounts for the impression of high acidity and leaves a very faintly gritty texture on the palate making it a perfect food companion. It is vinified in concrete tanks and aged in large wooden barrels and has a hefty 14.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number LPR19091222 on the back label.
