UNFILTERED PINOT NOIR 2017 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer NORMAN HARDIE
A REPEAT of the 2017 was previously released on December 12, 2020 at $45.20. Here is my updated tasting note based on a just opened bottle . Light reddish colour with a faint orange-amber tinge. Intense, complex, mineral-driven, rose hip nose with some faintly earthy, sandalwood-tinged, plum-crancherry notes - a cool climate Pinot Noir for sure. Very dry , medium bodied and reasonably well structured with some still slightly grippy, crancherry fruit flavours along with a mineral driven, lifted, lingering, faintly earthy finish. Try with salmon and poulty. It has nice mouthfeel despite only 11.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar. Screwcap closure with lot number 20180208 on the lower part of the glass bottle.
