VIEILLES VIGNES SYRAH/GRENACHE 2019 AP Côtes du Roussillon
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SAINT-ROCH
Fairly deep intense purple-red colour. Gently spicy, juicy, ripe, intense, plum-cherry purée nose with some minerally-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, gently smoky, rather spicy, bright, intense, ripe, plum-cherry compote flavours with a lingering, crisp, unoaked, minerally finish. A versatile, crowd-pleaser that’s perfect for casual sipping. Jean-Marc Lafage’s blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache has a hefty 14.5% alcohol and under 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22033C on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 195107

TASTING NOTE: Blackcurrants, smoked herbs, licorice, and some bloody meatiness all emerge from the 2019 Cotes Du Roussillon Villages Old Vine. It's medium to full-bodied, plush, and sexy on the palate, with a wonderful sense of seamlessness. Score - 92 (jebdunnuck.com, March 22, 2021) Price $ 16.95
